The simplest way to clean up an acrylic painting on canvas is to dust it gently using a soft cloth or a duster regularly. In case your painting has been exposed to dust and the colors seem dull, use a sponge or soft cotton cloth soaked in water. A gentle soapy water will also do wonders. Make sure to wipe over with clean water in the end to avoid leaving any soap on the surface. Be gentle with paintings with thick impasto/ texture, as you do not want to break hardened paint.

You may dust it gently everyday with a soft, dry cloth. For the wet cleaning, you may do it couple of times a year, depending on the level of exposure.
